Common questions
Do I own the website?
On the monthly plan, the website stays with Agate Studio while you subscribe. Your domain and the content you supply are always yours, and you can buy the website any time for $3,800. Monthly payments don't reduce that price. On the upfront plan, the website is yours once it's paid for.
What happens after launch?
On the monthly plan, I host and maintain your site and make up to 30 minutes of small updates each month, such as new photos, hours or prices. Unused time doesn't roll over. Small updates beyond that are $75/hour, with an estimate first. New pages and features get a fixed quote. Call or text me any time; urgent problems come first.
How do I cancel?
After the first 12 months, give me 30 days' notice. Leaving sooner costs the monthly payments left in your first year. The website becomes yours only if you buy it.
What if I don't like the design?
You'll see your homepage before anything else is built. If you're still unhappy after one round of changes, you can cancel before approving it and get back everything you've paid for the build.
Do I need to write the content?
No. Copywriting is included in both plans. I can write from your business information, work on it with you, or use words you already have.
Will it work on phones and show up on Google?
Every site is designed for phones first. Both plans include search setup: page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and Google Search Console. Rankings aren't guaranteed, and ongoing SEO work isn't included.
What if I need more than five pages?
Extra pages and features get a fixed quote before any work starts.

I studied computer science at UMD and Georgia Tech, won Apple's Swift Student Challenge, and spent six years keeping F-16 engines flying with Duluth's 148th Fighter Wing.
